All chemo treatment at this stage has been setback by a week.

Zoe had blood work done yesterday and her platelets were only 13. She arrived to Sydney with a 20 and in the last few months we had got them up to an incredible 354!! Because of this block of chemo they have dropped to an all time low. Her blood pressure was very high and because of this and the combination of low netrophils (the part of the white blood count they look at alot while doing chemo) they had to give her a blood transfusion yesterday that lasted from round midday till round 6:45pm last night - they had to administer the blood very slowly.

Zoe will have another blood test Thursday and will most probably require a platelet transfusion. They didnt give it to her yesterday as they wanted to see if her blood transfusion would enable the body to restore platelets on its own.

She a few other questionable things happen today such a blood in her urine (a side effect from one of the drugs) and some red spots come up on her skin (these sometimes point to platelets being low also)................. so we will get these looked at tomorrow after her blood test at her clinic appointment.

Zoe is also at the moment on 2 others drugs. One for mouth sores (Valtrex) and the other to stop chest infection occurring (Bactrim).

New goal for heading home is end of June first week of July...........
