3rd block completed with a few setbacks. Zoe ended up with a canulla in each hand. Chemo into one, bloods out of the other. Our girl was not a happy girl at all!!!.

Reason is her port is not working at all, nothing goes in or out anymore. Sooooo..... She is now scheduled for an operation upon her return round the week of the 4 October. (this was meant to happen this last Friday but she was scrubbed from operation list and rescheduled). This operation is a major operation for Zoe again with the other port to be taken out of her main vein in her neck and the port to be then placed on her left side instead with a brand new port. Until then if she needs anything she will need to have a canulla put in her hand to administer anything if needed. (praying she stays needle free for 2 weeks!!).

Zoe is on 2 weeks break from chemo now before Block 4 starts (protocol 2 they call it). This will start if all goes well from blood test in Wagga on 20 September to see her numbers are right to continue on 4 October with her Bone Marrow (regular start of each block for assessment).

We are just waiting for the official next protocol to be put into the mail so we know we stand with treatment dates etc and i will update these when i receive them.

For now Zoe is eating very little. Her weight has dropped and she now only weighs 20.5 kilos. (at round 18 they have to put a tube up her nose) so pray we get back into food soon. Her throat is very sore, has a cough because of this - can't do much more then talk her into panadol (which is a fight as she thinks she is only going to bring it up!). But i managed to talk her into some this morning.

We are eating such things as cashews, ice cream and drinking heaps of milk!!!!!!! (like over a litre a day).

I am starting to see a little of our "old Zoe" in her character lately which is nice........... this next block will be hard, but we are seeing a light at the end of this tunnel for the close of the year with hopefully things more settled.

Zoe will be turning 6 on 26th November, we pray for no setbacks in this next block (which we have been told by the doctors there will be, as no child goes through this next block without them!) - but by some miracle Zoe will be celebrating her 6th birthday with an ice cream party (as requested from the girl herself haha).

Zoe was interviewed by our local Prime tv to try to build blood donation awareness.
