Zoe's first week off from chemo involved 2 visits to Wagga Base Hospital with bleeding nose and bleeding from the eye. Zoe's platelets were around 50-60 over the course of the two days, so no transfusion was given (need to be round 20 regularly for this to happen, but sometimes they step in before hand and give this on occasion).

Zoe saw an ENT (Ear's Nose and Throat specialist) at the Base also. It's believed that her bad hayfever and sneezing and blowing of her nose enlarged her vessels in her nostrils and caused "active bleeding" to her nose and even to her eye for a short time. They gave her a nasal spray in a high does to help combat the problem quickly to save more damage and so she didn't have togo through a "fusing" up the nose.

Glad to say the last two days have been great for Zoe. She has pepd' up considerably. SO much so today alone she ate three bowls (kid size of course) of spiral noodles and her fav tomato sauce. Her energy levels have come 10 fold and has colour in her lips again.

She has played with the kids next door [we moved house 3 weeks ago] (her new friends) who brought her home made cupcakes to "make her feel better". Was great to see her so happy and socialising outside a  hospital bed!

We have her new protocol which should commence 4th October if all goes well with her blood counts - see new section of Zoe's website for details for her Treatment Schedule.
